How to Rip CDs using Windows Media Player: Overview

Windows Media Player is the easiest option for converting your audio CDs into MP3 files. It's a standard part of Windows XP and Vista. It requires very little configuration. It automatically downloads song titles, album cover art and more. Best of all, takes very little time to master the CD "ripping" process.

This guide takes you through the steps and will have you ripping in 15 minutes.

Here's what you need to get started:

1. Access to the Internet
2. Windows XP or Windows Vista
3. A recent version of Windows Media Player (version 10 or 11).
4. A little space on your hard drive (at least 250 megabytes)
